Privacy policy
Last updated 26 August 2026
Emes Studios is a music production studio. This policy covers the studio’s website and the private software the studio uses to run its work — quotes, agreements, invoices and payments. It is written to be read, not to be got past.
The studio does not sell, rent or share client information with anyone for marketing, and runs no advertising or analytics tracking of any kind. There are no third-party trackers on this site.
What is collected, and why
If you contact the studio through the form on this site, it records:
- your name, email address, and phone number if you give one;
- your message and any link you include;
- the IP address and browser the message came from — kept only to limit automated spam.
If you become a client, the studio also keeps:
- contact details, and a postal address if one is needed to send a cheque;
- the songs being worked on, their prices, and notes about the work;
- agreements you have signed, including your typed name, the date, and the IP address it was signed from — this is what makes a signature evidence later;
- invoices, payments received, and how they were paid.
All of it exists to do the work you asked for and to keep an accurate record of what was agreed and what was paid. None of it is used for anything else.
Who else sees it
Only the services the studio needs to operate:
- Vercel and Neon — hosting for the website and the database.
- Resend — sends the studio’s email, so anything emailed to you passes through it.
- Intuit QuickBooks — the studio’s accounting. Money received is recorded there against your name. Invoices are not sent to QuickBooks.
- Google — only if a member of studio staff signs in with a Google account. Clients are never asked to.
Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it, or to the studio’s accountant, who is bound by their own professional obligations.
Cookies
One cookie, and only for people who sign in to the studio’s own software: it keeps you signed in and nothing else. It cannot be read by scripts, is not shared across sites, and expires on its own. There are no advertising or analytics cookies anywhere on this site.
How long it is kept
Business records — agreements, invoices, payments — are kept for as long as the law and sensible accounting require, which in practice means years rather than months. Contact messages that do not become work are kept only as long as they are useful. Hosting providers keep their own short-lived technical logs on their own schedules, which the studio does not control.
Keeping it safe
Access to the studio’s software is limited to the two people who run it. Passwords are not used at all — signing in is by emailed link. Anything sensitive stored on the studio’s behalf, such as the credentials connecting it to QuickBooks, is encrypted before it is written down. No system is perfect, and this policy does not claim otherwise.
Your choices
You can ask what the studio holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Deletion is subject to one honest limit: records the studio is required to keep for tax and accounting cannot be erased on request. Anything not caught by that will be. Ask through the contact form on this site.
Children
The studio’s services are for adults and it does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes affecting current clients will be told to them directly rather than left to be noticed.
Getting in touch
Use the contact form on the home page. It reaches the studio directly, and a reply comes from a person.
